  4. This simple utility will free up space used by an unneccessarily large Desktop file.
  5. Simply drop the offending floppy onto DiskSweeper, and in seconds it will be fixed.
  6. Or, you can launch the application and select the disk from the dialog.  This has the
  7. added bonus of letting you see my cool about box, which contains distribution info.

  9. Why DiskSweeper?
  10. Have you ever put in a floppy that you know is empty, but still has space used?
  11. Well, the reason is that the hidden Desktop file grows as you put files on the disk,
  12. but doesn't shrink when you remove them.  You used to be able to fix this by rebuilding
  13. the desktop on the floppy.  However, with the release of System 7, this no longer works
  14. on empty disks.  You could reformat the floppy to free up the space, but using
  15. DiskSweeper is much, much faster.
