- DiskSweeper 1.0
- by Jim Speth
-
- This simple utility will free up space used by an unneccessarily large Desktop file.
- Simply drop the offending floppy onto DiskSweeper, and in seconds it will be fixed.
- Or, you can launch the application and select the disk from the dialog. This has the
- added bonus of letting you see my cool about box, which contains distribution info.
-
- Why DiskSweeper?
- Have you ever put in a floppy that you know is empty, but still has space used?
- Well, the reason is that the hidden Desktop file grows as you put files on the disk,
- but doesn't shrink when you remove them. You used to be able to fix this by rebuilding
- the desktop on the floppy. However, with the release of System 7, this no longer works
- on empty disks. You could reformat the floppy to free up the space, but using
- DiskSweeper is much, much faster.
